Also, you don’t even need your own Xbox/PC for the game streaming either as cloud gaming services like GeForce Now and XCloud are available and able to deliver a low latency, smooth gaming experience (as long as ur internet, again, isn’t shite). From pirated Switch games, homebrew titles, access to unsupported features, online play for banned consoles/people who don’t want to pay for Nintendo online, Android and Linux builds that run quite well - this one I cant stress enough because access to Netflix, Plex, YouTube with no ads, a decent web browser, media players, access to the entire Play store and APKS, a ton of emulators that allow you to play your older games wherever you are, access to mobile games on Android (basically making the Switch one of, if not the strongest Android gaming tablet on the market), and finally Moonlight Game Streaming, Steam Remote Play, XCloud, GeForce Now, PS Remote Play which allow you to play your PC games, Xbox games, and PS games wherever you are as long as you have a decent internet connection (this feature is my favorite as I love to play my PC games on my switch while sitting in bed or my PS5 games when I’m in another room) - are all amazing features that no other console with this level of hardware, at this price point have. Would it be awesome if they made a switch pro with a better APU so we could play at higher framerates and at higher graphic settings? Absolutely, but it doesn’t make the current switch “ancient” or mean the console can’t handle the majority of games being run on it currently.įinally and maybe the most important point, is the potential for modding is massive. Secondly, the Nvidia APU the Switch runs on is more than enough for 720p gaming and low/medium detail 1080p gaming on chip. It’s the whole reason people still love to play them even when there’s better looking games out there that are cheaper. For the price and for a console you already own it is definitely an amazing option I have a high performing gaming pc, a ps5, got a steam deck on the way and still prefer the switch for many use cases.įirst of all Nintendo’s games are absolutely awesome Nintendo might not be the most friendly to consumers and they aren’t focused on ultra realistic graphics, but their games are friggin fun. I spent four hours trying to troubleshoot and decided to downgrade back to 14.0.0 after reading this, as well as a few other posts on this sub.Super small brain take lol, like -200 iq. Thankfully restoring the working 14.0.0 backup and downgrading Atmosphere back to 1.3.0 worked without issue! It was as simple as restoring the backup with Hekete! Another game kept spamming about failing to setup temp NCA. One game failed to install properly, showing a blank icon. When launching Homebrew a got a black screen with an error message.Īfter rebooting Tinfoil had all sorts of issues. When I woke my Switch from sleep mode and tried to launch any game, I got an error has occurred error. I updated to Atmosphere 1.3.1 and FW 14.0.1 two days ago. I made a backup of my working 14.0.0 Atmosphere, thank god. I installed a titled I dumped from my Switch in the past with no issues now. I have updated my FW to 14.1.1, and my Atmosphere to this patched version. The hotfix will also be included in Atmosphere 1.3.2 Second: Download and install this version of Atmosphere 1.3.1: Īfter lurking around, the issues were caused by a memory leak issue in Atmosphere 1.3.1 and the linked version is a "hotfix" of sorts. If you are encountering issues with installing titles with Tinfoil on Atmosphere 1.3.1:įirst: Make sure you are using the latest sigpatches. I figure either it’s the sysmodule option I did in AIO installer or tinfoil, atmosphere needs a hotfix? I’ve tried deleting atmosphere and installing again to sd manually on pc, updating fusee, reinstalling tinfoil manually, via nsp instead of installer etc updating sigpatches. Games would work after boot until launching tinfoil… then I could launch a game and have it work but if I closed the software trying to open anything tinfoil or games would give an error, the games list would all read 0.0 except for some with 6.6mb (save files? I’m on emummc) and trying to launch into homebrew after that would crash atmosphere and ask to reboot. After I did that I updated to latest ofw through daybreak and yea, wierd issues with tinfoil 14.0. I first went through AIO installer to update atmos and when it asked about sysmodules I can’t remember if I hit yes or no but it crashed, I rebooted and did the AIO installer again, didn’t crash this time so I’m wondering if it’s connected to that sysmodules.
